“Be involved in your art”

How many times a day do you have to follow an impersonal voice on the phone asking you to push numbers and hope you chose the right option? Why do that with your art and framing needs? fairy.jpg Sure you can order great art on the internet but what happens if you chose wrong or your art arrives damaged? Do you really want to wait in the line at the post office to return that item?  Do you really want something that literally millions of people might have hanging in their home?

Let me help you with your art and framing choices. With my art background and 23 years of framing experience I can guide you through the process of framing your art to suit your style and budget. Your style! something that lets friends know you and your likes and tastes not a person that buys cookie cutter art.

If your busy schedule doesn’t allow you the time to mess with driving to the frame shop give me a call I offer pickup and delivery service as well as in home framing consultation.

Picture framing is an art in itself. The right combination of frame, mats and glass, fillets, custom fabric wrapped mats and liners are important not only to make your art look great on your wall but also to protect it for years to come. I have the experience and knowledge to complete your framing needs in an easy  relaxed, one-on-one, design consultation.

From the simplicity of your child’s art, to photos of that “special day,” to the mementos from a past event, custom framing can make the difference between ho hum and oh wow.

snow-men.jpg Home decorating has changed from our grandparent’s day. We no longer decorate once and forget it. We change, we go with the flow, we enjoy new spaces, we make our house suit our lives and the changes that go with it. Custom framing for me is also about change. I redo rooms and know that not all art has to be expensively framed. There is a place for a really fun, great priced, temporary piece of art. I can help you with those things too.

I keep a stock of frame moldings that are for kicks or that are in vogue, most with low prices so you don’t have to hit your line of credit to afford it. By going to the trade shows and subscribing to trade magazines, I keep up with what is hot and “now” and I realize you may not want a gorgeously and expensively framed blue and mauve goose forever. Let me show you what fun reasonably priced, decorative framing can be.

On the flip side let me assure you that as a member of the Professional Picture Framers Association, certified Picture Framer and fine artist I also strive to keep current with all the updates in
preservation framing.

marino.jpg Some things are for keeps and need to be handled and framed to the highest standards. Every day professional framers learn more about the damage that our environment does to art and to framed objects. Ultraviolet filtering and acid free mats are now available at prices that make it possible to protect those objects we care about. Where masking tape and cardboard were once the norm and were accepted materials for framing, time and technology have given us better and safer ways to frame the things that matter most.

dragonfly.jpg I offer all “rag “ mats and Japanese hinging combined with conservation glass and a multitude of preservation techniques that will keep your art as safe as we know how at this time. Please feel free to call me to discuss this type of framing as well as any of your other framing needs.
